History

The origins of ginger ale can be traced back to the 19th century, with the first known recipe appearing in the 1850s. It was initially created as a medicinal tonic, believed to aid digestion and alleviate nausea. Over time, it evolved into a popular soft drink and mixer, especially in North America and the UK.

In cocktails

Bartenders often use ginger ale as a mixer in cocktails, pairing it with spirits like whiskey, rum, and vodka. It can also be enjoyed on its own over ice or as a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage. When serving, it's best to pour ginger ale gently to preserve its carbonation, and garnishing with a slice of lime or lemon can enhance its flavor.
