Sweet and fruity with a strong peach flavor
How it is made
Peach vodka is typically made by infusing neutral grain vodka with natural peach flavors or by distilling vodka with fresh peaches. The infusion process allows the vodka to absorb the sweet and aromatic qualities of the fruit, resulting in a spirit that retains the clean taste of vodka while delivering a fruity punch.
History
The origins of flavored vodkas can be traced back to Eastern Europe, where fruits were often added to vodka to enhance its flavor. Peach vodka emerged as a popular variant in the late 20th century, particularly in the United States, where the demand for flavored spirits grew. The combination of vodka's neutral profile with the sweetness of peaches quickly made it a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts.
In cocktails
Bartenders use peach vodka in a variety of cocktails, including peach martinis, fruity spritzers, and summer punches. It pairs well with citrus juices, soda, and other fruit liqueurs. When serving, it can be enjoyed straight over ice or mixed into cocktails for a refreshing twist. Garnishing with fresh peach slices or mint can enhance the drink's presentation and flavor.
Worth knowing
Peach vodka is often used in summer cocktails due to its refreshing flavor, making it a staple at summer parties and barbecues.
