How it is made

Patrón Silver is made from the blue agave plant, primarily sourced from the Jalisco region of Mexico. The agave hearts, or piñas, are roasted in traditional brick ovens, then crushed to extract the juice. This juice is fermented and distilled to create the tequila, which is then filtered to achieve its clear appearance.

History

Patrón was founded in 1989 by John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley, who aimed to create a high-quality tequila that could compete with the best spirits in the world. The brand quickly gained popularity and is now recognized globally as a symbol of premium tequila. Patrón Silver, introduced as a part of their lineup, has become a staple in bars and restaurants worldwide.

In cocktails

Bartenders often use Patrón Silver in cocktails due to its smooth and versatile flavor. It works exceptionally well in margaritas, tequila sunrises, and palomas. For serving, it can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a base for cocktails. When mixing, it is recommended to balance its crispness with fresh citrus or sweet ingredients.

Worth knowing

Patrón Silver is one of the first tequilas to be bottled in a hand-blown glass bottle, which adds to its premium appeal.
